Nokia acaba de anunciar el soporte de widgets en los S60. Así, todos los móviles basados en este sistema dispondrán, de forma nativa, de la posibilidad de usar estos widgets (pequeñas aplicaciones realizadas en HTML y Javascript).
Todo ello gracias a Web Run-Time, que permitirá el desarollo de estos widgets basados en tecnologías estándar como AJAX, HTML o CSS. Este soporte está basado en WebKit, el motor de navegación que se incluye en estos teléfonos, y que está basado en el del navegador Safari de Mac, que a la vez está basado en el navegador de KDE.
Esto significa que la mayoría de widgets desarrollados para Mac OS X se podrían usar directamente o con muy pocos cambios en los teléfonos con Series 60.
Lo que sería aun más interesante es que estos widgets fueran compatibles tanto con Series 60 como con el futuro iPhone, que también dispondrá de la posibilidad de ejecutar este tipo de aplicaciones. ¿Podremos ver esto? A mi me parece una posibilidad remota pero factible.
