Y después de mas de una semana sin actualizar el blog, vuelvo, lo siento, tuve poco tiempo y coincidió con un bloqueo temporal, pero ya de lleno en el tema quiero hacer una reflexión sobre estos 2 móviles que menciono en el titulo, ambos debían ser los estandartes de sus compañías y aunque no resultaron ser malos dispositivos, si decepcionaron y quedaron muy lejos de lo que ambicionaban.
Ambos casos son muy similares, móviles que levantaron olas enormes de hype y al final no correspondieron, ambos tienen características de hardware de ensueño que vencían a quien se pusiera enfrente excluyéndose ellos mismos y el Omina HD, pero por alguna razón al salir a la venta causaron descontento.
¿Qué fue lo que pasó?
El software los mató a ambos, el caso del N97 es muy sonado ya que los enemigos de Symbian ganan mas poder cada día conforme Symbian pierde fieles y esto se acrecentará con la salida del N900 con Maemo 5. Symbian es un sistema que ya muchos piden que se jubile y dé paso a la siguiente plataforma de Nokia, pedían que fuera Android o algo nuevo basado en Linux, bueno, hoy tenemos Maemo. Funcional y sencillo ya no es suficiente para el consumidor de la alta gama de smartphones que piden velocidad en el sistema y un uso agradable, pero sobre todo eye-candy y en ese aspecto Symbian se siente muy 2004.
Aun con una muy útil pantalla de inicio con widgets, Nokia no pudo salvar a su terminal de la critica.
El caso del LG Arena es el mismo en razón de que fue traicionado por su alma, su software, pero de manera inversa a Symbian, la interfaz del LG Arena, el S-CLASS 3D es un sistema propietario que aparentemente fue construido a partir del eye-candy. La interfaz es cómoda y bonita, pero deja la impresión de que el Arena tiene para más, el potente hardware de ese móvil se ve limitado por un sistema propietario y muy cerrado que limita lo que podemos hacer con él. Tanto así que en ALT1040 declararon que "Si tuviera Android sería casi perfecto"
En conclusión podemos decir que la interfaz vive un momento de protagonismo en el sector gracias en parte al -despreciado por mi- iPhone, que me canso de ponerlo como ejemplo en tantas ocasiones. Eso si, El HTC Hero y en N900 dejan al iPhone desnudo y sin defensas.
Ahora si para finalizar, esperemos que Nokia incorpore Maemo en mas móviles y que LG adapte su interfaz tan bonita a Android como lo hace HTC para conseguir así lo mejor de ambos mundos.
